In Conversation with Emma Pinchbeck, Chief Executive, Climate Change Committee

29th October 2025

Wednesday 29 October, 5pm

Join us as Emma Pinchbeck, Chief Executive of the Climate Change Committee, will discuss progress on climate action in the UK to date and the vital role nature must play in both adaptation and mitigation in the UK.

Drawing on the Committee’s latest work, Emma will highlight the importance of progress on policy to support ecological protection and restoration that delivers dual benefits for species, habitats, and climate action. She will highlight the current policy context, the opportunities and barriers to nature-based solutions for both mitigation and adaptation and the importance of nature in public communications about climate change. She will also set out how the CCC is working more in partnership with JNCC to bring together data and expertise in an integrated way to help government shape the right solutions for both climate and nature.

This event offers a chance to engage with one of the UK’s leading voices on climate change. The Climate Change Committee advises the UK and devolved governments on the necessary steps to progress towards Net Zero by 2050, publishes 5 yearly Carbon Budgets and Climate Change Risk Assessments, and sends an annual progress report on emissions cuts to Parliament.
