Professor Dame Georgina Mace
21st September 2020
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Professor Dame Georgina Mace, one of the most influential conservation biologists of the last fifty years. The depth and breadth of her work has been extraordinary – whether it be developing the IUCN Red List, providing a framework for understanding ecosystem services and natural capital, or the management of endangered species populations. Above all, we remember her incisive mind, wit, and gently persuasive wisdom – any meeting was so much the better for Georgina’s participation. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends.
