The Book of Vanishing Species is a stunning homage to the Earth’s most wondrous creatures and plants by artist Beatrice Forshall.

In 2018 Beatrice Forshall was an artist-in-residence at the Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI), a pioneering collaboration between researchers, policymakers, practitioners and teachers that brings together university academics, and a group of ten international NGOs. Working with colleagues in more than 180 countries worldwide, the community aims to transform our understanding and impact on the conservation of nature. Artists are playing a crucial role, and The Book of Vanishing Species is Beatrice’s contribution to the cause.

Watch author and printmaker, Beatrice Forshall, explain how she created the breathtaking images in the book. The book is now available to buy in all good bookshops – please support local shops if you can.

Visit CCI’s Arts webpage to find out more about the residency
