Today is World Wildlife Day, so we though we’d highlight some of the fantastic speakers and events we have lined up for Earth Optimism later this month. The theme for this year’s Wildlife Day is “Forests and livelihoods: sustaining people and planet”.
On 31st March, Caroline Laurie, Kingfisher Group’s Head of Sustainability, tells us how one of the UK’s biggest retailers switched entirely to sustainably-sourced wood and paper products and how B&Q continues to support innovations in forest management around the world.
Carl Jones has saved more species from extinction than almost anyone else alive. Join him on 1st April to hear the remarkable stories of how the Mauritius kestrel, the pink pigeon and the echo parakeet have been rescued – and how ground-breaking work with giant tortoises is now restoring near-extinct habitats too.

Explore the Museum of Zoology with conservation experts and discover the wildlife conservation success stories behind the animals on display. This behind-the-scenes look at the museum goes live at 2pm on 28th March
There are dozens more events, talks and films to explore on the Earth Optimism website.
