Developing/fostering a series of new approaches (e.g. Horizon-Scanning) to facilitate interdisciplinary and cross - institutional collaboration, encouraging fresh thinking, ideas and solutions for biodiversity conservation.
Initiating an Arts, Science and Conservation programme that draws together artists and conservationists to inspire new audiences to engage with and value nature.
Establishing, along with the Smithsonian Institution, a global Earth Optimism movement, with major Earth Optimism events held in Cambridge in 2017, and planned again for 2020, alongside sister events in 12 other nations.
Supported the Student Conference on Conservation Science which helps young scientists gain experience, learn new ideas and make contacts to help their future careers.
Providing knowledge, evidence and expert opinion for national and international reviews and analysis on the state of nature and its conservation for governments, intergovernmental organisations and the private sector (including Dasgupta review for Treasury, National Ecosystem Assessment for UK Government, Lawton report, IPBES)
