Cambridge Conservation Initiative was honoured to have its work recognised by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as he addressed academics and students at the University of Cambridge after being awarded an honorary degree.

Joining the ceremony directly after attending COP26, climate action was at the centre of his speech.

“We need the Cambridge spirit today more than ever. I have just arrived from COP26 in Glasgow, the focal point of global efforts to avoid the worsening effects of the climate crisis. Cambridge University is at the forefront of work to tackle this crisis through Cambridge Zero and through the Cambridge Conservation Initiative.”
