Background

I am a geospatial analyst and project manager working on Key Biodiversity Areas with IUCN in Cambridge. I manage multiple projects implementing the Global Standard for the Identification of Key Biodiversity Areas, often with a freshwater focus (fishes, molluscs, dragonflies, crustaceans and aquatic plants). Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) are sites contributing significantly to the global persistence of biodiversity. In this capacity I work closely with the IUCN Red List Unit and with the KBA Secretariat in Cambridge, as well as with the KBA Partnership comprised of thirteen leading global conservation organisations. I also sit on the KBA Technical Advisory Group and the World Database of KBAs Advisory Group. I am a member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC), the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) and the Freshwater Biodiversity Observation Network (FWBON).
