Background
Genevieve Stephens has been a Project Officer with the RSPB Kazakh Steppe team for three years, working as part of the Altyn Dala Conservation Initiative. With a background in soil science, she has been investigating the carbon capture potential of steppe restoration, while also supporting community engagement and communications within the partnership. Her current focus is on delivering a planning project funded by the Endangered Landscapes and Seascapes Programme in West Kazakhstan—a 5-million-hectare landscape that is home to the world’s largest population of Saiga antelope.
