Dr Gill Rands

Research Strategy Office
University of Cambridge

Role: Governing body, University conservation working group

I work on behalf of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and the Research Policy Committee, as a member of the Research Strategy Office at the University of Cambridge. Following a doctorate and postdoctoral research in the life sciences, my early career was in the scientific publishing industry. I joined the University in 2002, working first in corporate liaison and business development and more recently in research strategy and strategic planning. A major element of this work involves facilitating the development of large-scale cross-disciplinary research initiatives and partnerships, and creating the policies and mechanisms to underpin them.
