Background

I have been working for the IUCN Global Species Programme since 2014, initially as part of the Red List Unit and since 2016, as part of the Freshwater Biodiversity Unit. At present, my work primarily focuses on: i) assessment of the extinction risk of freshwater species for The IUCN Red List of Threatened SpeciesTM, and ii) identification of Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs), sites of global importance for the persistence of species, for freshwater biodiversity. I have a broad background with an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (Zoology) from the University of Cambridge, and a MSc in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation from Imperial College London.
