Background
Carolina is a Brazilian biologist with graduate studies in ecology, public policy and international relations. She is the Global Marine Policy Coordinator at BirdLife International, based in the UK. In this role, Carolina advocates for the development, adoption and implementation of conservation and sustainable use measures of biodiversity the marine space. governments mainly through international policy mechanisms such as the CBD, UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, Regional Seas Conventions and others, but also supporting the BirdLife Partners in their national advocacy efforts. She has more than 20 year experience on marine conservation, protected areas and wetlands conservation and policy. She has worked for the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment and for UNESCO National Office in Brazil. After 9 years in the UK, Carolina is now also a British citizen.
