Since 2007 I have been the Principal Adviser to Arcadia, a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin, which is a UK based charity whose mission is to preserve endangered culture and nature. We have a portfolio of about 50 grants and make payments of about $25m each year. We currently fund two elements of the CCI’s activities – the Collaborative Research Fund and the Executive Director’s post. As Arcadia’s representative I sit on the Selection Panel Collaborative Fund grants whose job is to assess the applications against the agreed criteria and decide which we can afford to support.
Before joining Arcadia, I was Chief Executive of the Heritage Lottery Fund, having previously worked in the UK Treasury. I am currently Chair of the National Trust East of England Regional Advisory Board, as well as a Trustee of several heritage organisations.
