André Hoffmann

Chair
MAVA Fondation

Role: Advisory board

Background

I am an entrepreneur, a private investor and a committed philanthropist. I have studied economics at St. Gallen University and hold an MBA from INSEAD and am currently a non-executive Vice President of Roche Holdings, Givaudan, the Tour du Valat Foundation and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) International. Furthermore, I chair the boards of Massellaz and Nemadi Advisors  and am a board member of the following companies: Genentech, Inovalon, Amazentis and Glyndebourne Productions. In addition, I serve on the boards of the following charities: INSEAD, Corbillettes Foundation, Dubois Ferriere-Dinu Lipatti Foundation, and Paul Sacher Foundation.
My passion and main philanthropic interest is in the field of nature conservation. Accordingly, and in addition to my Vice President responsibilities mentioned above, I chair the Internationale Fondation of the Banc d’Arguin (FIBA), the ProValat Foundation and the MAVA Fondation.

I support the Cambridge Conservation Initiative because it aims to enable the emergence of innovative and potentially game-changing tools and approaches to tackle global conservation challenges by bringing together multidisciplinary teams of dedicated and international conservation leaders and their networks
