Background

A plant ecologist by training, I have served in the biodiversity conservation sector for the last 14 years designing and managing conservation projects and programmes. I have extensive engagements in community support for conservation, capacity building, development of nature-based enterprises, development & support for multi-stakeholder plans for natural resource management, research including policy & advocacy at national and international levels.

 

I have served as the coordinator of the African-Eurasian Migratory Landbirds Working Group which led to strengthened policy support for the conservation of migratory landbirds the in the flyway region within the framework of Convention on Migratory Species. I am currently coordinating the Migratory Birds and Flyways Programme at BirdLife International Secretariat for the Africa region with strong focus on mainstreaming in the Renewable Energy sector, Landbirds conservation & Landuse, Coastal wetlands and Illegal killing of birds & Trade.
