IUCN

Bringing together the world’s most influential organisations and top experts in a combined effort to conserve nature and accelerate the transition to sustainable development

IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature, is the world’s oldest and largest global environmental network.

IUCN is a membership Union composed of both government and civil society organisations. It harnesses the experience, resources and reach of its more than 1,400 Member organisations and the input of more than 18,000 experts. This diversity and vast expertise makes IUCN the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it.

“As a global union of members that value and conserve nature, IUCN is proud to be part of CCI’s unique collaboration.” – Richard Jenkins, CCI Council

IUCN helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges by supporting scientific research; managing field projects; and bringing governments, NGOs, the UN, international conventions and companies together to develop policy, laws and best practice.

IUCN membership is open to States, government agencies, NGOs and academic institutions working in fields related to conservation or equitable and ecologically sustainable development. Joining the IUCN family creates networking opportunities that help you identify common interests, new partners and potential funding sources.
